On the 10th of September of 2021, our amazing HR team came up with a Merdeka Luncheon event. Although the pandemic has made social events impossible, we were able to bond and enjoy each other’s company virtually.
Starting with a speech from our chairman, Dr. Yeong Che Fai and also our managing director, Mr. Ricky Yap, we were able to start the event with words of motivation and unity.
Members of DF were able to showcase their traditional clothing of baju kurung, baju melayu and also their favourite traditional food like nasi lemak, mee kolok, some kuih-muih and many more.
But before lunch, we were entertained by joining in on a KAHOOT! quiz with the theme; Merdeka. All DF members were competing against each other and seeing who would be the top 3 winners of some amazing prizes in the end. Aside from competing, we were also able to brush up on our own knowledge about our beloved country and our independence day. Did you know that Malaysia comprises 13 states and 3 federal territories?
Next, as everyone was enjoying their lunch, a selection of Merdeka videos were played. These videos were able to make us feel proud and grateful to be Malaysians. All DF members were also given the chance to share what they love about Malaysia in a short chit-chat session. We were able to bond and got to know a little bit about each other.
