SIRI or Smart Industry readiness Index comprises a suite of frameworks and tools to help manufacturers – regardless of size and industry to start, scale and sustain their manufacturing transformation. The three main core elements of SIRI are Process, Technology and Organisation.
SIRI is part of the initiative to establish a single standardised framework for manufacturers worldwide to evaluate and benchmark their facilities to start, scale and sustain their I4.0 transformation. This initiative was a joint effort between World Economic Forum (WEF), EDB, McKinsey, Siemens and TUV SUD.
The above figure shows Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI). IT has 3 building blocks with 8 pillars and 16 dimensions. The 3 building blocks are Process, Technology and Organisation while the 8 pillars consist of Operations, supply chain, product lifecycle, automation, connectivity, intelligence, talent readiness and structure & management.
DF plays an important role to our customers especially to the Technology blocks. DF’s Zalpha Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR), AGV, NavWiz solution, DFleet,etc fulfil the 3 pillars of automation, connectivity and intelligence. Figure 2 is one of DF’s robot models named as Zalpha. In this case, customers are using the Zalpha robot to pick and release pallet trucks between 2 locations in their factory automatically. This robot is also connected to the internet, and with the feature of our DFleet, a fleet management system, it allows connectivity between the robots and users. Users are able to monitor real time the robot tasks as well as collect data as it travels. The data collected can be plotted to OEE, and other dashboard for visualisation. Machine learning can be used to do some prediction and this is the intelligence part to help the robot to make decisions without human interaction.
Overall, the SIRI is a powerful tool for manufacturing for their Industry 4.0 journey to start, sustain and grow. Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) and Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) are some of the important technologies that could be utilised by customers in their I4.0 journey especially in the technology block especially for automation, connectivity and intelligence.
